National swimmer Kuzey Tunçelli has joined the ranks of athletes supported by Vestel, a long-time advocate of Turkish sports for over a quarter of a century. With its individual athlete sponsorships, Vestel continues to invest in the future of Turkish sports.
Proudly representing Türkiye on his Olympic journey, Kuzey Tunçelli became the first Turkish swimmer in history to reach a final at the Olympics, finishing fifth in the 1500m freestyle event. He is now among the athletes supported by Vestel.
Kuzey Tunçelli stands out as one of Türkiye’s youngest and most successful long-distance freestyle swimmers. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, he reached the final of the 1500m freestyle, becoming the first Turkish swimmer to achieve this milestone and finishing fifth with a time of 14:41.22. With this performance, he broke both his own world junior record and the Turkish national record.
In the same year, Tunçelli won a gold medal at the European Championships in Belgrade and secured double gold in the 800m and 1500m freestyle events at the 2023 World Junior Championships. At just 17 years old, the national swimmer is making a significant mark in Turkish swimming history with records across both junior and senior categories.
